Mason Jar Stamping

Hello again! I'm back today with a project created for Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday Challenge #182. The theme of this challenge was to stamp and emboss on glass. I was so inspired by this challenge! Melissa Phillips did an awesome tutorial video on this technique and created some really beautiful decorated mason jars. Check out the tutorial and other entries here!

I have some new Papertrey Ink products from their September release so this was my chance to use them and get a head start on my Christmas crafting. I decided to make a Christmas mason jar with a white, silver, and red color story. I used Papertrey Ink Polka Dot Basics III stamp set along with silver embossing powder to get my polka dots on the jar. I also used some K and Co. snowflake stickers to embellish the jar.

For my awesome shaker tag I used Papertrey Ink's Shaker Shapes ornament die set, Sparkle and Shine word die set, and the Holiday additions mini stamp set.  I absolutley LOVE this set! I can't wait to get started on making some Christmas cards with it as well!

In addition to the stamp and die sets listed above I also used Martha Stewart patterned and foil cardstock, Papertrey Ink solid cardstock, Darice sequins, and white craft paint.

Lawn Fawn Happy Holidays Card

Hello! Today I have a Lawn Fawn shaker Christmas card to share with you. There are so many fabulous Christmas crafting products coming out right and looking at all of them totally inspired me to get a head start on my Christmas crafting. I made this card for the Lawnscaping Challenge themed Critters Galore. You can see the other fabulous entries here.

Lawn Fawn stamps are so much fun to work with and I had a blast making this shaker card. I used FIVE different Lawn Fawn stamp sets and one Lawn Fawn die set on this card! That's the beauty of their products. They coordinate with each other very well. I originally stamped the owl from the Winter Owl set but then I decided I wanted to turn him into a her so I used the bow tie from Critters at the Dog Park to go on top of her head. Then I decided she still looked a little cold so I added the ear muffs from the Yeti Set Go stamp set to her. The holly berries and sentiment are from the Winter Gifts set and the banner and birds are from the Bannerific set.

Here is what I used:
Lawn Fawn Winter Owl
Lawn Fawn Yeti Set Go
Lawn Fawn Critters at the Dog Park
Lawn Fawn Winter Gifts
Lawn Fawn Bannerific
Lawn Fawn Stitched Party Banners Die
Lawn Fawn let's polka petite paper pack
Darice sequins
Studio Calico wood veneer tree
Copic Markers
Papertrey Ink solid cardstock
clear transparency

One Layer Lawn Fawn card

I made this card for the Lawnscaping one layer card challenge. Check out all of the other great entries here. This is actually my first one layer card ever! I found it to be quite difficult because I am so used to adding a bunch of layering mats to all of my cards and cutting out my stamped images. This is one of the reasons I like to do challenges. It gets you out of your comfort zone and makes you try new things.

For this card I stamped my Lawn Fawn yeti image and then masked him off along with a background mask made with the new Lawn Fawn Forest border die. I used Tattered Angels glimmer mist to spray the background and get the sky and hills. I'm pretty pleased with the effect. I think I might try more one layer cards in the future!

Here is what I used:
Lawn Fawn Forest Border Die
Lawn Fawn Yeti, Set Go stamp set
Memento Ink
Copic Markers
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Carribean Blue
Papertrey Ink cardstock

My Blogging Return and a Greeting Farm Card!

Hello everyone! It's been such a long time since I have been able to blog. I got married a little over a year ago and things have been so busy since then. I have since changed my last name and as such have decided to create a brand new blog to go along with it. If you would like to see any of my previous projects please visit http://melissabelldesigns.blogspot.com/.

...Anyways, on to the card!

I created this card for The Greeting Farm's Farm Fresh Friday Challenge. The challenge was to use watercolors on your card. Check out all the other fabulous entries here. I was so excited to get my new stamp Holiday Anya 4 that I knew she would be the center of the card. I have all of the other Holiday Anya stamps and I love everyone of them!!

I recently got a set of Peerless Watercolors from friend for my birthday but I haven't been able to get the results I have in my head with them yet. I think I just need a little more practice. I ended up using my Tim Holtz distress inks instead for this project. I stamped the ink pads on to my craft mat and then sprayed a water mist over them. After that I placed my watercolor paper on top of them. The colors blended together very nicely I think.

I also chose to make the colors of this card different than the traditional holiday color palette but added in some gold glitter cardstock to still give it back some holiday magic. What do you think? Does it still give you a sense of the holiday spirit?

Here is what I used:
The Greeting Farm's Holiday Anya 4
Copic markers
black embossing powder
Papertrey Ink cardstock
watercolor paper
Versamark ink
Tim Holtz Distress Ink in picked raspberry, ripe persimmon, and squeezed lemonade
Lawn Fawn winter gifts sentiment
American Crafts gold glitter cardstock
rhinestones from my stash

UPDATE: Yay I won the challenge! Thanks so much to the Greeting Farm!
